Hello and welcome to Quiltilus Studio! I’m Catalina Barceló, and I’m thrilled to invite you to embark on a creative voyage through the world of quilting. Whether you’re a seasoned quilter or just beginning, Quiltilus is here to guide you on a journey filled with inspiration, modern tools, and endless possibilities.
Quilting has always been my passion. What started as a personal exploration of color and design has blossomed into a creative career. I first ventured into the world of quilting under the name Amarar Creacions, but I felt it was time to embrace a fresh perspective. With Quiltilus Studio, I bring modern tools and designs that make quilting more accessible, precise, and enjoyable for everyone.
As someone who’s always been fascinated by both art and science, I’ve always seen quilting as an adventure—much like the journey of a ship navigating uncharted waters. That’s where the name Quiltilus comes from. Inspired by the Mediterranean Sea, the Nautilus (a legendary ship in sci-fi), and my lifelong love for creativity, Quiltilus Studio is more than just a place for quilting; it’s a place to explore, experiment, and make connections.
Growing up surrounded by sewing machines, fabrics, and the creative influence of my grandmother—a lifelong dressmaker—I’ve always had a love for crafting. After studying Economics, working in public administration, and teaching music, I found my true calling once I had children. It was then that I dove deep into quilting, blending tradition with innovation.

In addition to Quiltilus Studio, I’m also the creator of QuiltInk—a web app that is revolutionizing the way quilters visualize and experiment with color. QuiltInk allows you to color quilt patterns digitally and create endless mock-ups to see how different color combinations will look before cutting into fabric. It’s the perfect tool for anyone who wants to explore the world of quilting in a new, modern way.
